On 16 March, Harikala Sahani of Biruwatol, 25, Ward No. 3, Parsa Gadhi Municipality, had her leg cut off by her husband, Bishwanath Sahani, 30, in a sudden attack on 16 March. Harikala, the victim, stated that Bishwanath tied her hands and mouth to the bed before cutting her leg. The victim said that her husband cut her leg after she asked her father for money to go abroad, but he refused. The victim filed a complaint against her husband at the District Police Office on 16 March.
According to DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet of the District Police Office, the injured Harikala is undergoing treatment at L.S. Neuro Hospital in Birgunj. The police stated that the accused is at large and a search operation is ongoing.
