According to INSEC Makwanpur representative Manjila Mainali, in preparation for the House of Representatives Member Election 2025 to be held on March 5, 2026, the offices of the Chief Election Officer and Election Officers have been established in Makwanpur. According to the District Election Office, Makwanpur, the office was established and brought into operation on 17 January at the building of the Provincial Agricultural Wholesale Market, located in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City–11, Thanabhyang.
In the same building, separate Election Officer offices have been established for House of Representatives Constituency No. 1 and No. 2. The office inauguration program was attended by Chief Election Officer of Makwanpur, Honorable Judge Geeta Shrestha; Election Officer and District Government Attorney Devendra Acharya; Chief Secretary of Bagmati Province Baburam Adhikari; Mayor of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City Mina Kumari Lama; Chief District Officer Basanta Raj Adhikari; and Deputy Superintendent of Police of District Police Office Makwanpur, Pushkar Bogati, among others.
Makwanpur district, which has two electoral constituencies, has a total of 315,334 voters. Of these, 158,435 voters are in Constituency No. 1, and 156,899 voters are in Constituency No. 2. Among the voters, 153,376 are women, 161,953 are men, and five are categorized as others.
For the election in Makwanpur, the District Election Office has designated 167 polling stations and 374 polling centers. The office has also informed that all necessary preparations are being made to ensure the election is free, fair, and effective.
According to INSEC Dhading representative Sitaram Adhikari, with the establishment of the Chief Election Office at the District Coordination Committee office located in Nilkantha Municipality–3, Dhading, an all-party meeting was held on 19 January.
The Chief Election Officer’s Office has informed that work has begun to conduct election activities for Dhading Constituency No. 2, and discussions are being held with political parties, urging them to make the House of Representatives Member Election free, independent, and fair.
The meeting was attended by representatives of various political parties, including CPN-UML, Nepali Congress, Nepal Communist Party, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), and CPN (Maoist Centre), among others.
Chief Election Officer Ram Prasad Sharma urged strict compliance with the Election Code of Conduct while carrying out nomination registration, campaigning, door-to-door outreach, and other activities in relation to the election to be held on March 5.
Similarly, the Election Officer’s Office for Constituency No. 1 has been established at Mahesh Dobhan, Galchhi Rural Municipality, Ward No. 6. Election Officer of Dhading Constituency No. 1, Ekaraj Adhikari, urged political parties during the all-party meeting to comply with the Election Code of Conduct.
Dhading district has two electoral constituencies. There are 114 polling stations and 310 polling centers in the district. According to Shiva Gurung, Chief of the District Election Office, the district has a total of 275,280 voters.
