Khagendra Rai, 30, attempted suicide after killing his wife, Ganga Rai, 2,7 of Kirant Chowk, Belaka Municipality-3, Udayapur on January 4, 2026.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Kedar Man Dong of the District Police Office, during a domestic dispute, Khagendra stabbed his wife to death and also inflicted knife wounds on various parts of his own body in an attempt to take his own life.
Ganga, who was injured in the knife attack, was taken to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan (Ghopa) for treatment, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
Khagendra, who attempted suicide, is currently undergoing treatment at Ghopa under police surveillance.
