Out of 145 polling sites in Gulmi, 48 have been classified as highly sensitive. Among them, 57 polling sites have been categorised as sensitive and 40 polling sites as normal, according to Chief District Officer Badrinath Gaire. He stated that all polling sites have been monitored along with the district’s security plan and have been classified from a security perspective.
He further mentioned that the physical conditions required on polling day, such as drinking water, electricity, toilets, and fencing, have been studied in detail, and local authorities have been urged to carry out necessary maintenance. Based on the conditions of the polling sites, appropriate security arrangements will be made, and discussions with local political parties and representatives are being conducted to create a conducive electoral environment.
The Election Commission has added three more polling sites in Gulmi. This decision was made to facilitate voters in the upcoming election. After monitoring the polling sites, the District Security Committee and the Election Office forwarded recommendations along with suggestions from parties and stakeholders.
One polling site each has been added in Gulmidarbar Rural Municipality, Satyawati, and Musikot Municipality, and one polling site in Musikot Municipality-4 has been relocated, which has been approved by the Election Commission, according to Election Officer Rishiram Ghimire of the Gulmi Election Office.
Now, a new polling site has been established at the Ward Office building of Satyawati Rural Municipality-6. In Gulmidarbar Rural Municipality-1, Balithum Narhari Kandel Secondary School, and in Musikot Municipality-1, the Ward Service Center building in Simle have been designated as new polling sites, as stated by Election Officer Ghimire. Similarly, 516 voters from Musikot Municipality-4, Musikot Secondary School in Halogade, will be relocated to Janata Basic School, Arupat. Gulmi has a total of 145 polling sites and 279 polling centers.
In Gulmi, 1,174 women and 1,649 men, totaling 2,823 new voters, have been added. Out of these, 2,772 are residents of the district and 71 are from outside. Gulmi has two electoral constituencies.
