Police have arrested Prem Dorchi Sherpa, 49 on charges of beating his wife, Meena Sherpa, 37, a resident of Madi Municipality-3 to death.
According to police, the accused killed his wife by beating her on November 25, 2025 while they were returning home from Okhre Bazaar, Madi Municipality–4.
After the incident, the accused filed a complaint at the District Police Office on November 26, 2025, claiming that his wife had gone missing while returning home from the market.
Suspicion arose during the investigation, and upon interrogation, the accused confessed to the killing. DSP Kumar Prasad Mainali of the District Police Office stated that the accused was arrested on December 13, 2025.
According to the police statement, the accused buried the body in a pit dug in his own cardamom plantation in Madi Municipality–3, wrapping it in a tarpaulin.
