Niraj Chaudhary, 28, a resident of Tulsipur-6 in Dang, died on 7 December by gun firing at Hamar Tharu House & Restaurant in Rajapur-4, Bardiya. According to Police Inspector Prakash Singh Karki of the District Police Office, it is suspected that the shot was fired by Mahabir Chaudhary,51 of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-6 causing Chaudhary’s death.The post-mortem of the deceased was conducted at Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj, on 9 December.
Ramkumari Tharu, the operator of Hamar Tharu House & Restaurant, had taken the injured Chaudhary to Nepalgunj Nursing Home for treatment after the incident. However, when they reached for treatment, doctors declared that Chaudhary had already died.
Mahabir Chaudhary had told Ramkumari to take him to the hospital for treatment and then fled from the scene afterward. Police also recovered a bullet casing at the incident site.
