Bijay Fakami Magar, 19, a resident of Jaljala Rural Municipality-9, Parbat, and living in Kushma Municipality-7, was sentenced by the District Court of Parbat on November 16, 2025, for committing a sexual offense against a minor.
The bench of Judge Basudev Paudel had, on November 9, 2025 found Fakami Magar guilty and ordered him to be brought for sentencing. On November 16, the court sentenced him to 12 years in jail, imposed a fine of NPR 500,000, and ordered him to pay NPR 50,000 in compensation, according to Tehsildar Bharat Paudel of the District Court, Parbat.
Fakami was reported to have committed the offense on November 18, 2024. Following a complaint filed with the District Police Office, Parbat, on March 23, 2025 Fakami was arrested by the police on the same day.
After police investigation, the District Government Attorney’s Office filed a case in the District Court, Parbat, on April 16, 2025, under relevant criminal provisions, and the court sent him to jail for trial on the same day.
