Over 6,000 New Voters Added in Sudurpaschim Province

After the Government of Nepal announced the date of the House of Representatives election for March 5, 2026, voter registration and updating work has begun in the districts under Sudurpaschim Province from September 26, 2025.

According to the Provincial Election Office, since the start of registration on September 26, more than 6,000 new voters have been added, including 4,485 men, 2,372 women, and 2 others.

Acting Chief Prem Bhatt of the Provincial Election Office, Dhangadhi, stated that Kailali has registered 1,597 men and 898 women; Kanchanpur has 1,053 men and 540 women; Dadeldhura has 126 men and 65 women; Doti has 170 men and 75 women; Baitadi has 293 men and 155 women; Achham has 414 men and 211 women; Bajhang has 363 men and 179 women; and Bajura has 219 men, 122 women, and 2 others. In total, 6,857 new voters have been added across the province.

Following the formation of the new government after the Gen-Z movement, voter registration began alongside the announcement of the election date, and Gen-Z voters have also been registering their names in the voter list.

Acting Chief Bhatt informed that due to the enthusiastic participation of citizens registering to vote in the upcoming election, election offices have been kept open until 6 PM in the evening, and the voter registration and updating process will continue until November 16.
