With the government announcing the date of the upcoming House of Representatives election for March 5, voter list collection has begun across the district. According to the District Election Office, Darchula, the registration which started on September 26 has seen a notable participation of youths. So far, 228 new voters, including 149 men and 79 women, have registered their names in the voter list, said District Election Officer Pradeep Singh Dhami.
Nepali citizens who have reached 16 years of age are currently registering their names at the District Election Office. According to Election Officer Pradeep Singh Dhami, the voter list collection will continue until November 16, as the election process is set to begin afterward. The District Election Office, Darchula stated that voter registration is open from 8 am to 6 pm every day except public holidays. The office further informed that there are already 90,782 registered voters in the district, including 46,435 men and 44,347 women.
Election Officer Pradip Singh Dhami reported that youths are actively registering in the ongoing voter list registration. Following the Prime Minister’s recommendation, President Ramchandra Paudel has officially scheduled the House of Representatives election for March 5.
