Police arrested Sanyog Thapa,22, of Tilottama Municipality-4, Rupandehi, currently living at Rastrabank Chowk, Pokhara Metropolitan City-7, on charges of setting fire to the residence of the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province on the night of September 28. The suspect had absconded after the arson. Police are conducting further investigation, according to District Police Information Officer Hari Bahadur Basnet.
During the investigation, police stated that Thapa had also smashed the screen of an NIMB Bank ATM machine located beside the wall of Nepal Rastra Bank by throwing a stone at it.
