Out of 471 inmates who escaped from Sindhuli Jail on the afternoon of 10 September, 171 have been taken into custody. According to DSP Surya Prakash Subedi, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Sindhuli, they were taken into custody as of the morning of 11 September. The escaped inmates were brought under control by a joint team of the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police. Authorities have stated that the search for the remaining absconding inmates is ongoing.
On the afternoon of 10 September, 471 inmates including 428 male and 43 female broke through the jail’s security perimeter and escaped.
