A violent clash between police and juveniles at the Naubasta Child Reform Home in Baijnath Rural Municipality-3 left seven injured. Five of the injured detainees died while being transported to Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj for treatment, while two others remain under medical care at the hospital.
The five detainees who died in the clash at the Nauwasta Juvenile Reform Home have been identified as: Bhupendra Khatri,21, of Mahabu Rural Municipality-2, Dailekh District, Samir Thapa, 20, of Khajura Rural Municipality-1, Banke District, Umesh Bista, 21, of Ramroshan Rural Municipality-4, Achham District, Jagat Deuba, 19, of Lamkichuha Municipality-6, Kailali District, Dinesh Ghartimagar, 20, of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-13, Dang District. The injured currently undergoing treatment at Bheri Hospital are: Sandesh Gurung 20 of Khajura Rural Municipality-6, Banke District, Tulsilal Rai ,20, of Godasahi Rural Municipality, Saptari District
As the Gen Z protest intensified, the juveniles attempted to escape, leading to clashes with police around midnight. During the incident, approximately 80 juveniles managed to abscond, while 90 remained inside the facility.
