Allowances Distributed to Over 4,000 Conflict Victims

 

The Karnali Province Government has distributed allowances to 4,041 conflict victims including martyr families and the injured. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law distributed a total of Rs 9,69,84,000 in the fiscal year 2024–2025 to honor the martyr families and support the livelihood of the injured. The Ministry has been providing a “Martyr Memorial Allowance” for martyr families and a “Livelihood Allowance” for those injured during the conflict.

According to the Ministry’s data, allowances have been distributed to 2,121 families of martyrs, the family of the disappeared, and 1,920 injured individuals across the province. Ministry spokesperson Tulsi Prasad Acharya stated that a total of Rs 9,69,84,000 was distributed including Rs 5,900,000 million to the families of martyrs and the disappeared, and Rs 4,60,80,00 to the injured. Each beneficiary receives Rs 2,000 per month, amounting to Rs 24,000 annually.

According to data provided by the Ministry, the highest number of beneficiaries are from Kalikot and Salyan. Among the local levels, the highest number of recipients is in Bagchaur Municipality of Salyan, where 298 individuals (47 martyr families and 251 injured persons) received allowances totaling  Rs 71,52,000. Ministry spokesperson Tulsi Prasad Acharya stated that the program aims to honor the families of those who lost their lives during the armed conflict and to support the livelihood of those who were injured. He added that the allowance has provided some financial relief to the affected families.
