Police arrested five individuals from Buddhabhumi on July 26 for the charge of trafficking an 18-year-old woman. Those arrested include Juthe Tharu, 45, of Buddhabhumi Municipality–1, Baburam BK, 24, originally from Bhumikasthan Municipality–10, Arghakhanchi, Bishnu BK, 19, Hariprasad Giri, 63, and Himal BK, 18, all from Buddhabhumi Municipality–2 .
The accused had reportedly lured the victim with promises of a good job and were taking her to India on July 25 when police on patrol rescued her. The victim filed a complaint against them at the Area Police Office, Gorusinghe, on July 26, accusing them of human trafficking.
The health examination of the victim was done at the Kapilvastu Hospital, Taulihawa, on July 25.
