Police arrested Mohammad Riyaz Ansari ,35, on July 23 for charges of killing his father, Sabib Ansari, 65, of Dewangunj Rural Municipality-2. Superintendent of Police Suman Kumar Timilsina of the District Police Office said the accused stabbed his father during a domestic dispute on July 23. According to SP Timilsina, the arrest was made after locals informed the police about the incident.
Sabib Ansari, who was critically injured in the stabbing, was admitted to Golden Hospital in Biratnagar for treatment. He died during treatment, following which the accused was taken into custody, police said.
The post-mortem of the body was done at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, Ghopa, on July 23. Police informed that the victim’s family received the body on the same day.
