Police arrested Manasingh Karki, 40, of Bhimdutta Municipality-4, on July 3, 2024, from Brahmadev Highway Zero Point for attempting to rape an 18-year-old woman. According to Assistant Sub-Inspector Shankar Kunwar of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, police arrested Karki and sent him to Kanchanpur District Prison on the same day to serve his sentence. Although the bench of Judge Durgaprasad Upreti at Kanchanpur District Court had convicted him on June 12, 2012, and sentenced him to four years in prison, Karki had been on the run.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint against him at the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, on March 23, 2010, alleging that he attempted to rape the woman on March 22, 2010. The victim underwent a medical examination on March 23, 2010, at Mahakali Hospital in Kanchanpur.
