Police arrested a 25-year-old man on March 10 for allegedly raping a 16-year-old minor. The name of the accused has been kept confidential as he is a brother to the victim and her neighbor too. The aggrieved party had filed a complaint against the accused on 9 March 2025 accusing him of raping the victim on July 2023, and January 2024. The case is under investigation as per Inspector Baldev Badu of the District Police Office. Inspector Badu stated that the incident came to light after the victim girl gave birth.
The health examination of the victim was done at the District Hospital in Baitadi on March 9.
Likewise, police arrested a 30-year-old man on March 9 for allegedly raping a 15-year-old minor on January 2024. The name of the accused has been kept confidential as he is a brother to the victim and her neighbor too. Inspector Baldev Badu of the District Police Office, Baitadi, stated that the accused has been arrested based on the complaint filed by the aggrieved party, and an investigation is ongoing.
