A complaint has been filed at the Area Police Office, Bagnaha, against unknown assailant for beating 52-year-old Narbahadur Oli, a member of the CPN-UML District Committee and a businessman from Bansgadhi Municipality-5, on December 19, 2024. The victim stated that he was subjected to beating and robbed by unknown assailant at around 10 AM in Bhurigau Market, Thakurbaba Municipality-1. He said, ‘A group of four people attacked me in Bhurigau Market at 10 AM. They also robbed Rs 549,000 from me.
The CPN-UML District Committee issued a press release on December 19 , 2024 stating that the incident in which four unknown assailant carried out a violent attack on bussinessman oli from Bansgadhi Municipality in the main square of Bhurigau Market, while he was there for business, and also robbed him of the cash he had, has drawn serious attention from the party. The press release states, ‘Even though there is open hooliganism in the main market during the day, the security agencies have failed to take notice, and we express our sorrow over the lapses in security. Strong condemnation is made of this reprehensible incident that occurred in broad daylight in the busy Bhurigau market. We sincerely appeal to the concerned authorities to identify the perpetators and bring them under legal action.
The General Secretary of the Bansgadhi Industry and Commerce Association, Dinesh Gautam, stated that they are sensitive to the assault incident on Wali at Bhurigau Chowk. DSP Rishiram Gharti Magar from the District Police Office stated that an investigation is being conducted into those involved in the incident immediately after it occurred.
