Police arrested 58-year-old Tek Bhandari of Amargadhi Municipality-7 Pokhara on October 12 for the charge of raping and killing a 14-year-old girl on October 11. The victim’s mother stated that they filed with the police against the accused for the rape and killing of her daughter.
DSP Sugandha Shrestha of the District Police Office, Dadelfdhura, stated that the accused has been arrested based on the complaint filed, and an investigation is underway. The body has been sent to Dadeldhura Hospital for a post-mortem. DSP Shrestha of the District Police Office, DadelDhur, stated that the body of the girl, Bhattarai, was found wrapped in a plastic bag and discarded. Additionally, a motorcycle bearing the registration number 1-1454, which belonged to the girl, was discovered 20 meters east of the crime scene in a canal. The aggrieved party have been continuously protesting with slogans along the Bhimdatta Highway in Pokhara Bazaar since 12 October, demanding action against the accused.
