The District Court has sentenced 30-year-old Prakash Thinglabu of Aatharai Rural Municipality-3 to nine years in prison for raping his 32-year-old sister-in-law. Registrar Ritu Rai reported that on August 25, the bench of District Court Judge Bhimbahadur Niraula found the accused guilty and imposed the sentence along with a fine of Rs 100,000.
A complaint regarding the case was filed at the District Police Office on 24 May 2023 alleging that the accused had raped the victim on 24 March. Subsequently, the police registered a case under Incent rape at the Distric Police Office on 3 May, 2024. The police reported that the search for the absconding accused is going on.
The health examination of the victim was done on 24 May at the District Hospital.
