The District Court , Sarlahi sentenced 32-year-old Jamrudin Ansari and 34-year-old Mohommad Maksud Ansari of Hariban Municipality-4 to three years imprisonment on 25 July 2024 for the crime of raping a 26-year-old woman.
Registrar Sadan Adhikari informed that the bench of Judge Jiwan Kumar Bhandari gave them the following verdict along with Rs. 30,000 as compensation to the victim.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Hariban on July 12, alleging that the victim was gang-raped on May 21, 2023. The police subsequently registered a formal complaint on July 16. Registrar Adhikari also informed that the accused are currently being held in pre-trial detention at the Sindhuli District Jail.
The health examination of the victim was done on 16 July 2023 at Sarlahi District Hospital, Malangwa.
