The District Court sentenced 30-year-old Mohammad Jiyaul to life imprisonment on May 12 for the crime of killing his 30-year-old sister-in-law Tanjila Khatun of Sakhuwanakarakatti Rural Municipality-4.
The single bench of District Court Judge Tek Bahadur Karki decided the sentence after finding the accused guilty.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Lahan on 22 January alleging that the accused killed his sister-in-law with an axe during a domestic dispute on the same day.
The post-mortem of the dead body was done at the provincial hospital in Lahan on 22 January. The accused was arrested on 22 January and the accused was in custody since 15 February by the order of the district court.
