Police arrested 62-year-old Krishna Dhami on March 21 on the charge of killing his 62-year-old wife Parbati Dhami of Dilashaini Rural Municipality-7 Dhamigaon with a spade on the same day. According to a preliminary police investigation, Dhami killed his wife due to a domestic dispute.
Subash Kalouni, 29, an employee of Dilashaini Rural Municipality, who was residing in the house of Dhami, along with 26-year-old Devraj Bhatta, an office assistant of the same Rural Municipality, protested against the incident after Dhami seriously injured his wife. Inspector Nandaraj Joshi of the District Police Office in Baitadi stated that Dhami attacked the Dilashaini Rural Municipality employees Kalouni and Bhatta, seriously injuring them, for protesting against the incident.
Inspector Joshi reported that Parbati died while being taken to the hospital for treatment, and the other seriously injured were sent to Nepalgunj through a Nepalese army helicopter for further treatment. He added that the post-mortem of the deceased’s body was conducted on March 21 at Gokuleshwar Hospital. The body was subsequently cremated by relatives. Additionally, the accused involved in the incident has been arrested and is under investigation.
