Impact of Insec Online News: X-ray Service Resumes After One and a Half Months

The X-ray service closed for the past one and a half months has been resumed. On 5 February, 2024, a news article was published on Insec Online regarding the patients being in trouble due to resumed X-ray service. Acting Chief of District Hospital Kamal Dhungana reported that the news drew the attention to the problem after which the X-ray service was resumed.

The discontinuation of services occurred because the X-ray machine at the district hospital broke down. Consequently, patients with common diseases of the district had to go to Nepalgunj and Jumla  for necessary medical treatment. Chief Dhungana said that the news and the follow-up of INSEC played a significant role in resuming the services.

It created issues for many patients when the X-ray service was stopped due to the machine breakdown.  Kusuma BK from Soru Rural Municipality – 9 expressed that it is now easier for them  to receive treatment within their district. She mentioned her son, who broke his hand, is currently being treated at the district hospital.

Chief Dhungana explained that although the machine was recovered  a few days ago, shortage of skilled manpower in the district delayed its installation.
