Police Arrested Four for Kidnapping and Extortion

The police arrested four individuals who had kidnapped a 38-year-old man from Chabahil, Kageshwari Manohara Municipality-1, Gagalfedi, and extorted NPR 13,50,000 on December 31. The incident occurred on December 26.

Among those arrested by the police are 42-year-old Tejman Tamang, originally from Sindhupalchok and currently residing in Gokarneshwar Municipality-4, Makalbari; 26-year-old Saugat Tamang from the same location; 32-year-old Karma Chhewang Thing from Thali; and 38-year-old Bire Tamang, also known as Samrat.

According to SP Kumod Dhungel, Police Spokesperson of the District Police Complex, Kathmandu, the victim who was held hostage lodged a complaint with the Police Circle, Bouddha, on December 30, alleging that he was being held hostage.

On the basis of the same allegations, the accused have been arrested and the district court has extended the investigation deadline by five days, informed SP Dhungel.
