INSEC Assists in Registering Case for Victim of Domestic Violence

INSEC assisted a victim of domestic violence to file a case against her husband Shyamraj Dhobi, 33, mother-in-law Shubhawati Dhobi, 58, and brother-in-law Rajaram Dhobi, 40, in the District Court on November 9.

INSEC provided financial support to 33-year-old Tara Dhobi, who is originally from Kapilvastu Municipality-11 Rehara and currently living under the shelter of her relatives in Kapilvastu Municipality-3 Sikotawa, in order to continue the legal process for the victim.

Parbati Acharya, the District Representative of INSEC, handed over Rs. 8000 to the victim during a meeting attended by group officials, including the Chairperson of the Human Rights Group.

The victim expressed that since August 19, 2023, her husband and family members did not allow her to eat , deprived her treatment, physically and mentally abused her, insulted her, and kicked her and her two children out of the house.

The victim submitted an application to human rights group, Kapilvastu affiliated to INSEC, on November 6 for financial and legal assistance to register the case related to food and share in the court.

The human rights group recommended INSEC Kapilvastu to facilitate the victim on November 6.
