Earthquake In Jumla Caused Minor Damages With Five Injured 

The earthquake of 6.4 magnitude that occurred in the midnight of November 3, with the center point of Barekot Rural Municipality-1 Ramidanda of Jajarkot, caused minor damage and five minor injuries in Jumla.

26-year-old Srijana Gautam of Tatopani Rural Municipality – 3 Bahunwada has a minor injury on her hand.

Chief District Officer Jayakumar Ghimire said that her 11-year-old son Ayush Gautam had an eye injury. In addition,  14-year-old Nirajan Upadhyay of the same ward had an injury in his hand.

Similarly, 11-year-old Sapana Thapa of Tila Rural Municipality-3 Daniwada was also injured. Inspector Yam Bahadur Budha Magar of the District Police Office in Jumla has reported that the police are actively collecting data on houses that have collapsed or sustained damage in the earthquake.

According to him, Hari Bahadur Khatri from Tatopani Rural Municipality-4, Gautamwada, sustained a leg injury when the wall of his house collapsed while he was asleep.

Several houses and schools in Tila Rural Municipality-3, 5, and 9 have experienced structural cracks. In Chandannath Municipality-8, one room within the three-storied, tin-roofed house owned by 46-year-old Bishnu Bahadur Mahat was destroyed, while other rooms exhibited structural cracks.

The District Police Office informed that the injured individuals received primary treatment at their residences asper their conditions. However, 13-month-old Ayush Gautam is currently receiving medical care at the health post of the Rural Municipality.
