25-year-old Lakshmi Bishwakarma along with her six-year-old daughter Manisha Bishwakarma and one-year-old son Sudarshan,of Gurans Rural Municipality-5 Goganpani, were physically assaulted by her 26-year-old husband, Mahendra BK October 7.
ASI Sushila Bhusal, the Chief of the Women and Children Service Center at the District Police Office, reported that they received a complaint along with a photograph where Lakshmi and her two children were assaulted following a dispute related to her husband’s excessive alcohol consumption and lack of engagement in productive activities.
The victim explained that, while they were being physically assaulted, they went her parent’s house in a neighboring Rural Municipality for their safety.
The victims received medical treatment at the district hospital on October 9
Kishor Lamsal, DSP of the District Police Office said that the police arrested the accused from his home on October 9 and detained him on the basis of the complaint filed by the aggrieved party.
