The district court has adjourned the case against 35-year-old Bijay, also known as Saroj Kumar Mahato, residing in Sirha Municipality-12.
He stands accused of raping an 8-year-old girl. This decision was rendered by a single bench of District Court Judge Lilaraj Adhikari.
On June 6, 2021, the victim’s family lodged a complaint with the District Police Office in Siraha, alleging that the accused had sexually assaulted the girl on June 10. A medical examination of the victim was conducted at District Hospital Siraha on the same date, prompting the District Police Office to promptly register a complaint.
Subsequently, on June 3, 2022, a charge sheet was submitted to the district court, accompanied by an arrest warrant. Regrettably, as of now, the accused remains at large and has not yet been apprehended.
