On August 28, the District Court, presided over by Judge Ritendra Thapa, issued a verdict in a case involving a 15-year-old boy from Khairhani Municipality-6 in Old Parsa, Nepal. The boy was found guilty of raping a 13-year-old girl. As a result, he was sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment and ordered to pay 20,000 rupees in compensation to the victim.
The incident occurred on June 17, 2023, when the victim girl was allegedly raped by the boy. Subsequently, on the same day, the victim reported the incident to the local police office in Khairhani.
Following the report, a health examination of the victim was conducted on June 2 at Bharatpur Hospital. The authorities promptly arrested the accused from his residence on the same day the complaint was filed.
In accordance with the court’s ruling, the 15-year-old boy was sent to the Children’s Correctional Home in Bhaktapur to serve his 6-month sentence.
