The victim, identified as Shanta Kumari Bajgai, 32, also known as Rina, and a resident of Jitpursimra Sub-Metropolitan City-1, Simra, reported to the district police that she was subjected to physical assault, verbal abuse, and mistreatment by Sanjita Khatri, 32, residing in Jeetpur, Simra Sub-Metropolitan City-6, on August 14th. The victim lodged a formal complaint at the police office on August 7, 2023.
Allegedly, Ms. Khatri, the accused, directed derogatory actions and mistreatment towards the victim. The victim, who is actively engaged in human rights advocacy, claims that the accused physically assaulted her within her own residence.
Hovindra Bogati, Superintendent of the District Police Office, confirmed that the victim formally registered a complaint regarding the aforementioned incident. Superintendent Bogati stated, “We have summoned both parties to appear at the local police office in Simra, encouraging them to engage in a dialogue and reach a mutual resolution.” Superintendent Bogati further emphasized that should an amicable agreement not be reached, legal action will be pursued concerning the assault (beating) case.
