On July 30, the police arrested RemBahadur Haujali Magar, 27 years old, from Malarani Rural Municipality-8, on the charge of child marriage of a 12-year-old girl.
On July 25, when the accused was attempting to take the victim to India, the victim party lodged a complaint against the accused at the District Police Office on July 28 with the assistance of Maiti Nepal, Krishnanagar, Kapilvastu.
Inspector Bikram Rijal from the District Police Office informed that the remand of the accused and the victim has been extended by the District Court on July 30, for further investigation based on the complaint.
The victim underwent a health examination at Sandhikharka Hospital in Argakhanchi on July 28.
