District Court Judge Nirmala Subedi, in the session held on July 14, 2023, pronounced a one-year imprisonment for the crime of sexual abuse against Sudip Khatri Dahal, 40 years old, from Rupandehi Municipality-12, who committed the act against a 12-year-old girl.
Ishwar Acharya, Registrar of the Court, informed that the court decided to impose a fine of 10,000 rupees to the accused and additional compensation of 20,000 rupees to the victim.
The victim filed a complaint at the District Police office on March 19, 2023 saying that Dahal had sexually abused the victim girl March 18, 2023.
The victim underwent a medical examination on March 19, at Bharatpur Hospital. Dahal was arrested on the same day.
As per the order of District Court, the accused was kept in custody on April 7, 2023 for further enquiry.
