On July 6, 2023, law enforcement authorities arrested Ekraj Pandit, a 40-year-old teacher employed at Sri Krishna Secondary School in Chandragiri Municipality-1, Dahchok, on charges of assaulting (beating) a student. SP Sitaram Rizal, the Official Spokesperson of the District Police Complex in Kathmandu, provided the details of the incident.
According to Rizal, the victim, a female student, experienced loss of consciousness as a result of a forceful blow to her face inflicted by Mr. Pandit.
In response to the student’s complaint, which was lodged on July 6, the police promptly dispatched a team to the scene and apprehended the accused teacher. The victim is currently receiving medical treatment at Om Samaj Hospital, Satungal, as reported by Dr. Bhimnath Kharel.
