Police authorities apprehended Narayan Bahadur Rana, a 45-year-old resident of Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-1, Sano Dipling, on July 2, on charges of rape of a 29-year-old woman with psychosocial disabilities. The arrest was made following a complaint lodged by the victim’s relatives at the District Police Office on July 2, alleging that the accused committed the offense on July 1.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ramesh Kumar Shrestha from the District Police Office, a case has been officially registered against the accused at the District Court on July 3, citing the crime of coercion. To ensure a thorough investigation, a comprehensive health examination of the victim was conducted on July 2 at Gorkha Hospital.
