Police officially lodged against 37-year-old Somlal Tamang, hailing from Gajuri Rural Municipality-4, on June 23, on charges of raping a 13-year-old girl. The complaint was registered at the local police office in Gajuri. Providing pertinent details, Santalal Prasad Jaiswar, the Information Officer of the District Police Office, along with being a Deputy Superintendent of Police, confirmed the incident. It was revealed that Somlal Tamang committed the act of rape on June 18 while the victim girl was engaged in collecting grass fodders in a garden.
Furthermore, DSP Jaiswar disclosed that another complaint was lodged on June 10 by the same victim girl, accusing 43-year-old Dil Bahadur Rumba Tamang, also from Gajuri Rural Municipality-4, of raping her on June 6. As a result, Dil Bahadur was apprehended on June 18 and subsequently taken into custody.
In the interest of proper investigation and ensuring the well-being of the victim, a medical examination was conducted on June 25 at Dhading Hospital. The health examination aimed to provide comprehensive assessment and documentation of any physical or psychological harm inflicted upon the victim girl.
