Baglung District Court has sentenced Prakash Adhikari, 26, of Baglung Municipality-1 to life imprisonment for the crime of rape of Phulmaya Majhi, 40, of Baglung Municipality-1 after killing her.
According to Registrar Gangadhar Sapkota, the bench of Judge Diwakar Bhatt’s, on June 12, made the decision.
District Police Office Baglung arrested the accused on October 21, 2022, on the charge of rape and robbery by the accused after Killing Phulmaya on July 14, 2022.
The police registered a case against the accused in the District Court Baglung on November 15, 2022. The court remanded the accused to judicial custody on November 16, 2022.
The post-mortem of the body was conducted on October 17, 2022, at Dhaulagiri Hospital, Baglung.
