Activists of the Re-naming Joint Struggle Samatika Committee attempted to attack Koshi Province Assembly Deputy Speaker, Srishan Danuwar, and Udaipur, Triyuga Municipality Deputy Chief Maheshwari Rai on June 8.
CPN-UML Province Committee Chairperson, Tulsi Neupane, said there was an attempt to attack Deputy Speaker Danuwar and Deputy Chief Rai in Gaighat Bazar, while on their way to launch portable ventilators at the Snakebite Treatment Center in Gaighat, Udaipur.
The attack was attempted when a tractor loaded with wood blocked the road and stopped the vehicle of the Deputy Chief and Deputy Speaker Danuwar. The attackers damaged their vehicle.
Chief District Officer of Udaipur, Janardan Gautam, has confirmed that the attack was carried out by some people on motorcycles.
