INSEC, Lumbini Province Office, provided financial help to a 20-year-old victim of violence as legal aid on May 31, 2023. INSEC, Province Office, Nepalgunj provided the victim with Rs. 8000 as support.
The victim filed a complaint at the District Police Office on May 24, 2023, saying that she was assaulted and evicted from the house after she retaliated against attempted rape by her brother-in-law Haris Yadav, 21. Her father-in-law Pattar Yadav and brother-in-law Umesh Yadav assaulted her and forced her to leave the house.
The victim submitted a written plea to INSEC on May 24 for legal and financial assistance. The victim whose origin is in India, is currently residing with her relatives.
The victim informed that her brother-in-law sexually abused her repeatedly, and when she resisted, the whole family assaulted her.
The District Police Office registered the victim’s medical examination form, with the initiation of the human rights workers coordinated with INSEC and other organizations on May 31, 2023.
