The bench of Judge Dal Bahadur K.C, Tanahun District Court sentenced a 31-year-old man, uncle of the victim, to 21 years imprisonment, on 6 April 2023, for the crime of rape of a 13-year-old girl.
According to Registrar Min Bahadur Kunwar of Tanahun District Court, the court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to 21 years imprisonment along with a fine of Rs, 30,000 and compensation of Rs. 30,000.
The victim’s parents filed a complaint at the district police office on 2 August 2020 on the allegation that the accused had raped the victim on. The accused was arrested by the police on 4 August 2020.
The accused was detained in jail since 29 August 2020. The victim underwent a medical examination at Damauli Hospital on 2 August 2020.
