Rajan Shrestha also known as Raju, 35, of Nijgad Municipality-2, has been arrested by police on January 1, 2023 in the charge of raping a 15-year-old girl child.
Mother of the victim had filed case in the area police office, Nijgad on October 11, 2022 alleging that the accused Shrestha raped the child on October 5 during Dashain. Area police office Nijhad had commenced the search operation registering the case on the same day.
Victim informed that the accused had been cohesively abusing her for a year.
Victim’s mother informed that the accused ran away when the two families got into a fight on October 10 while the family of the accused tried to hide the case.
Sanjeev Oli, Inspector of area police office, Nijgad stated that the accused has been arrested on January 1, 2023, based on the complaint filed by the victim’s mother, statement given by the victim and the health checkup report.
