The Nepali Army has removed a suspicious package discovered at the election assembly venue of CPN-UML, Manthali Municipality-10 Chankhule on November 16. Police state that an anonymous party planted the package to threaten the scheduled meeting.
Nepali Army and Armed Police team led by DSP Rajkumar Thing, the head of the district police office, reached the spot upon receiving the information.
DSP Thing informed that the bomb disposal team found the suspicious object surrounded by stones with a wire protruding from it at the scene.
CPN-UML held its preliminary meeting after the removal of the suspicious object. Kailash Dhungel, a central member of the CPN-UML and a candidate for the House of Representatives, condemned the incident, saying it was done to terrorize the general public.
