Election completed at Budiganga Municipality, 66.83% vote have been cast! 

The election that was postponed on 13 May has successfully been conducted with tight security on 7 July at Budiganga Municipality. Election office has informed that 9,128 votes have been cast in the Municipality with 13,659 registered voters.

The polling at Trisakti Secondary School of Budiganga Municipality, 9, was obstructed for 35 minutes following minor dispute.

Bharat Thapa, ward chief candidate from party alliance and voter Sita Thapa were injured in the dispute.

As per Prakash Chand Adhikari, Chief District Officer, election was resumed following the treatment of both the injured by medical staffs at the polling centre.

Even though the election at Budiganga Municipality was conducted at 13 May, the election was postponed by election commission’s decision following the dispute.

Commission had decided to reschedule the election after the monitoring of the Municipality by the team of Commissioner Sagun Shumsher JBR following the dispute.

Four observers form INSEC have observed Budiganga Municipality’s election after receiving the permission from the Election Commission. Based on the same, INSEC has released the preliminary report.
