Police have arrested Sulav Chhetri, 26, of Kathmandu Metropolitan-14, Kalanki, on the charge of raping a 26-year-old woman and Prince Thapaliya, 18 and Rus Karki, 19, for being involved in the incident. The accused was arrested on July 4, 2022.
It is alleged that the victim was raped by Chhetri while she was resting in the tent of Sukute Beach Adventure Camp Resort in Sukute, Chautara Sagachokgadhi Municipality-9 on July 2, 2022. The other two were involved in the incident.
DSP Dakshya Kumar Basnet told that the victim had lodged a complaint against the accused at the District Police Office on July 3.
The victim was examined at Chautara Hospital on July 3.
According to DSP Basnet, the victim and the accused had gone to Sukute Beach with different groups and Sulabh Chhetri, came into her tent while she was resting. The accused had raped the victim and the other two accused had stayed out of the tent and guarded the entry.
The three accused were presented to the court on July 4 and have been sent to custody for a week of investigation, informed DSP Basnet.
