Govinda Bahadur Bishwakarma, 28, of Aathbis Municipality-2, has been sentenced to 10 years in jail by the District Court for raping an 18-year-old girl.
A bench of Judge Deepak Khanal found him guilty on April 4 and sentenced him, informed Shrestedar Dhan Bahadur Karki.
The victim had lodged a complaint against the accused at the Area Police Office, Katari on November 12, 2022, accusing that Bishwakarma had raped her on the same day.
Police had arrested the accused on November 15 on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim. A case was registered against the accused in the district court on December 7.
The accused was remanded in custody for trial on December 8. The victim was examined at the District Hospital on November 14.
