Kajal Kumari Mahato, 22, of Kawilasi Municipality-8 has lodged a complaint against her husband Ram Naresh Mahato, 23, of Thulo Musaili, Malangwa Municipality-7 at the District Police Office, Malangwa on March 29, 2022, accusing him of beating her for not getting dowry on March 24.
According to Rambabu Mahato, the father of the victim, Kajal Kumari was hit on the head and she had got two stitches on the finger of her right hand and three stitches on her left leg.
He informed that the victim was taken to the National Medical Hospital, Birgunj for further treatment.
Kajal Kumari and Ram Naresh were married on June 2, 2020, according to Hindu tradition. The father of the victim said that Kajal Kumari was beaten for not bringing sufficient dowry even though she was given NPR 50,000 and four annas of gold at the wedding.
According to Inspector Dacha Shankar Yadav of the District Police Office, Malangwa, the investigation is underway as the accused is absconding.
