A 19-year-old girl has been sentenced to three years and six months in jail by the Achham District Court for filing a false accusation case related to rape.
The bench of Judge Nabin Kumar Joshi gave the verdict on March 28, 2022, stating that the case was registered after the man denied marrying the girl after a consensual intimacy.
DSP Raviraj Baral of the District Police Office informed that the girl has been sentenced to three years and six months imprisonment as per Article 219 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 2074 BS for trying to frame the victim in false accusation.
Nandaram Khanal of Ramaroshan Rural Municipality-4 Batulasen, who is accused of rape, has been exonerated.
The 19-year-old girl had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office, Achham on January 31, 2022 alleging that Nandaram had raped her at her house on January 28.
The girl was examined at the District Hospital, Mangalsen on February 1.
Nandaram was arrested by the police from Garitand Bazaar of Kamal Bazaar Municipality-6 on August 5.
