The district court Jhapa has ordered a jail term of one year to Devi Bahadur Kunwar, 58, of Mechinagar Municipality-11 for sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl.
Officer Arjun Prasad Guragain told INSEC that the verdict was given by district judge Indira Sharma on December 27 and the accused was fined NPR 10,000 as fine.
The victim was abused on October 29, 2021, and the complaint was filed on November 1 at the Area Police Office, Dhulabari.
The accused was arrested immediately for further investigation after the complaint of the victim. He was remanded to custody on November 22.
The health checkup of the victim was conducted at Mechi Hospital on November 1.
