Police have arrested four people in accusation of killing Jamani Budha, 70, of Chhatreswar Rural Municipality-3 on June 25, 2021.
Inspector Shyam Prakash Yadav informed that the investigation had begun after arresting the victim’s daughter-in-law Sushila Budha, 24, on December 18 and nephew Kamal Budha, 19, on December 25.
According to Inspector Yadav, the victim was throttled to death by the two of them. The victim’s son who had been working in India and the villagers were told that Janami died after falling from the stairs. The final ritual of the victim was conducted on June 26, 2021.
Initially, no one had informed the police but the police started investigating the case after getting some secret information about the incident. Police informed that during the investigation it was discovered that the victim’s second daughter-in-law Chameli Budha and Kamal’s father Balaram Budha, 48, were involved in disposing of the evidence.
For further investigation of the incident, all three accused were arrested on December 8 while Kamal Budha had been absconding and hiding in the village. According to Inspector Yadav, Kamal was arrested by the police on December 25.
The complaint was filed by the victim’s son Netra Bahadur Budha, 33, claiming it was a planned killing instead of an accident. The complaint was filed at the Area Police Office on December 18.
