The District Court of Jhapa has declared six and half years’ jail term to the guilty of sexual abuse.
A 15-year-old boy of Mechinagar Municipality-15 has been sentenced to six years and three months imprisonment for sexually abusing a five-year-old girl.
The verdict was given by the bench of Justice Giriraj Gautam on November 28. He has also ordered to pay NRs. 35,000 as compensation to the victim.
The victim had lodged a complaint against the accused at the Area Police Office, Anarmani on August 26, 2021, accusing the accused of sexually abusing the girl on August 10.
Based on the victim’s complaint, the accused was arrested by the police on August 26 and a case was registered in the district court on September 13 under the heading of sexual abuse.
The accused was remanded to judicial custody on the order of the district court on September 14.
The girl was examined at Mechi Hospital on August 26.
